MacKenzie began her study of the organ at age 16 when she attended a Pipe Organ Encounter in Athens, Ohio hosted by the American Guild of Organists. Being a lover of heavy metal music, she was naturally attracted to the instrument’s potential for massive volume. She also began her piano study at this age after making the decision to pursue a career as a concert pianist. MacKenzie earned a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance with an organ minor at Ohio Wesleyan University, which led her to fabulous opportunities to study and perform in Germany and all over the US. However, she soon discovered a deep desire to perform original works. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles in September, 2010, MacKenzie found a love for composition and now creates works that blend popular genres with her classical training to create something accessible and enjoyable. She enthusiastically follows this approach when playing at GPC and is looking forward to finding fresh and meaningful ways to musically contribute to worship. She is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree at the California Institute of the Arts.
In addition to music making, MacKenzie’s hobbies include Jeet Kune Do, Asian studies, and looking for fun, new hair colors. She adores her cats, Persephone and Osiris, who always manage to keep her immense sense of self-importance in check.

George Ratchford joined the GPC staff in July 2008 as Director, Senior High. George grew up in a small town in Georgia. It was not until the father of a close friend passed away that he felt the presence of the living God. From that point on, he knew that his life would be linked to a meaning and purpose. While living in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, he became a member of a young adult group and served as a youth volunteer. After a year, he took a position as a full time Youth Director at Isle of Faith for five years. Two years later God gave him an open door to move to Pasadena and attend Fuller Theological Seminary. While he was attending school, George was offered the position as High School Director at GPC and after much prayer and deliberation, he said yes. GPC has truly become his new family and new home. George loves this church and loves seeing what Christ is doing in the midst of the people at GPC. He feels truly blessed to be serving here at GPC.

After graduation, she enjoyed 6 years of teaching Middle School, coaching at the High School level and overseeing Jr. High and High School ministries in Painesville, Ohio as well as La Paz, Bolivia. During her 3-year stint in La Paz, God pointed Lyndsey to Fuller Theological Seminary as her next step on her journey. Within a week of her arrival to California, she quickly found GPC and a new church family. Over the last year, Lyndsey has served with our CYA (College-Young Adult) ministry team and also our High School ministry. It is with enthusiasm that Lyndsey steps in to aid our Jr. High ministry as GPC prayerfully searches for our next Jr. High Student Director.
